At any given time our members are at work on more than 100 building, highway, and municipal construction projects across Northern Nevada. Here's a look at a few of the projects our local affiliates are up to.

Carville Park Senior Living

Reno, Nevada

Groundbreaking in October 2024, the Northern Nevada Building & Construction Trades Development Corp. will begin the complete rehabilitation of Carville Park Apartments, a Section 8 senior preference affordable housing complex in Reno, Nevada.

This down-to-the-studs rehab, in partnership with the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, will be the first major renovation on the property since it was built in 1978 and will provide new, high-quality affordable housing for seniors in Northern Nevada.

Renovations to the site will also address deferred maintenance, upgrade inefficient systems with new technology, and update the dwellings to modern standards of residential apartment living.

Nevada State Health Laboratory

Reno, Nevada

Design for a new multi-story state public health laboratory building is currently underway. The building will expand research and diagnostic space for the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory, currently located in an adjacent single-story building. The Nevada State Public Health Laboratory, a branch of the School of Public Health, provides emergency preparedness, newborn screening, diagnostic, and analytical services to the entire state of Nevada.

Located just north of Mackay Stadium, the 55,000 square foot facility will include flex labs, dedicated research and screening labs, a BSL-3 lab, staff offices, conference rooms, and collaboration spaces.
